The
ARAS Mission:
We are enriching lives through simple acts of kindness.
Finding individual fulfillment and creatively contributing
to the community is nearly impossible when one’s family is desperate
for food, shelter or safety. For 30 years, it has been the work of ARAS
to uplift and empower lives and communities so that people have the resources
necessary to live as they were meant to. Hundreds of thousands of lives,
from all walks of life, in countries around the world are every day being
enriched and set free by the work of ARAS.
The
Work of ARAS
Volunteer Programs
When volunteers uplift the lives of others, they are also uplifted. This
double benefit is especially true for teens who discover that by being
in service they can make a real difference in the lives of those less
fortunate than they. Because ARAS understands that community service benefits
the health of our society, the foundation regularly provides volunteer
opportunities, not only through its own programs, but also through the
valuable programs of other worthy organizations.
International
Effectiveness
Since 1978, ARAS has conducted uplifting educational programs and performed
charity work in, USA, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Brazil, Japan, Korea,
Taiwan, The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and
China.
The Annual
Harvest Festival
Every autumn, ARAS organizes a one day event through which 150 volunteers
present over 2000 underprivileged people, complete wardrobes of clothing,
groceries, books, massages, chiropractic adjustments, haircuts and, for
every child, a new, high-quality toy.

The Africa
Bike Project
Every spring, ARAS collects hundreds of new and used bicycles for African
villages where lack of transportation keeps poverty families isolated
from jobs and schools.

Food for Homeless
Teens
In coordination with other organizations, every year ARAS collects, prepares
and delivers meals to homeless teens in Seattle.
Promoting
Literacy
ARAS has an ongoing program of collecting and delivering books, videos,
and other educational materials to those in poverty as well as to prisoners
and their families.
Support for
Orphans
ARAS has, for many years, supported orphanages and schools in Asia, Africa
and Latin America through donations of money, food, clothing, books and
toys.
Teaching Programs
Inspiration, commitment and clarity of purpose are often lacking, not
only in people experiencing poverty or despair, but also in those who
are simply lost, feeling empty or frustrated from not living their individual
life’s missions. Programs on clarity and empowerment, lasting from
one hour to ten days are presented to people from all walks of life, in
countries around the world, leading them to common sense solutions and
fulfillment in their lives.
ARAS is an acronym
This acronym walks us through a simple, yet effective method of building
trustworthy and dependable relationships with nearly anyone in our lives.
Since Acceptance, Respect, Affection and Support are the four basic fundamentals
of human relationships, our expression of them gives others what they
hunger for, in order to feel worthy and connected. It is a rare person
who does not surrender to friendship when they feel:
 |
Welcomed to
be exactly themselves: |
Acceptance |
 |
Honored as unique
and valuable: |
Respect |
 |
Understood and cared for: |
Affection |
 |
Assited and satisfied
in their needs: |
Support |
There
are thousands of stories of those who have turned their lives around by
learning to treat others with Acceptance, Respect, Affection and Support.
It is not necessary to think how to do it, only to have an attitude of
ARAS toward others. Appropriate expressions then flow naturally.
