On December 2nd the ARAS Team provided hundreds of struggling families much-needed food, books, clothes and holiday toys. And more: the clothes, food and toys were only a part of our gift; as our fresh baked treats nourished their bodies, while massage therapists and chiropractors renewed their spirits. By our respect we reminded them that they are our brothers and sisters. By our kindness we reminded mothers and fathers of poor children that their children are invited to grow and prosper among us.

The Following are Results from Harvest Festival 2006

December 2, 2006

The weeks of day and night preparation for The ARAS Harvest Festival provided a flow of goods and services. Both volunteers and guests were uplifted by this special day of giving.

Our guests, who are daily facing socio-economic challenges, restored themselves in these ways:

""  Packaged groceries and grocery gift cards were passed out to all families.
""  Guests selected, from thousands of brand-new and like-new jackets, jeans, dresses, shirts, sweaters and shoes; wardrobes for their entire families.
""  For children, there were hundreds of new, high-quality toys.
""  Families enjoyed the services of our professional massage therapists, chiropractors and hairstylists.
""  For readers, there were thousands of quality books.
"" Warm holiday treats and beverages were plentiful for all to enjoy.

Our goal of uplifting minds and healing spirits was successful. Not only did the gifts and services touch hundreds of families, but the flowing acceptance, respect, affection and support visibly inspired them and must now be moving through their communities and inspiring others.
